New Website Launched to Better Serve Readers

Welcome to the new Tyler’s Weather!

I hope you are enjoying the quick and streamlined navigation abilities of the new website. The goal of the new design is to enable more frequent, news-oriented posts which are rich in media content.

On the home page, you will notice a scrolling feed of the top stories (with a photo too!). This was designed to inform you, as the reader, as quickly as possible once a story is posted. Additionally, my latest Tweets are found on the bottom of the home page. This live feed will update whenever I post a new Tweet. For example, you may follow what I post here during times of rapidly changing severe weather. Also, my latest videos are found adjacent to this Twitter feed.

Facebook users can now “Recommend” a news story or forecast by clicking the button at the bottom of each new post. Also, no fear Twitter users, you can also join in by clicking “Tweet.”

Finally, a new “Feature Image” has been introduced on the Multimedia page. When something interesting happens in the area, check here for a photo!

As with all new sites, there may be errors left unnoticed by me. Email me and let me know.

Great job, Tyler. I hope the new site does very well. I’m going to see if I can subscribe to the site through my google reader.

Thanks! I’ve been working on it for just over a month. Also, I just fixed the RSS feed. Should work now.
